Telugu Badi Fall Session Homework

Fall - Week 1

Level 1
- Please practice writing and in the book provided. If your kid is further along, please have him/her practice the two letters they are currently learning. Please make sure they are pronouncing the letter while writing.
- Practice the Vemana padyam that was taught in the class.
Level 2
- Please practice writing and pronouncing all the letters.
- If your kid was in Level 2 last year, please have them practice gunitalu.
- Please practice saying numbers in telugu from 1 to 100.
Level 3
- All the homework listed above for Level 2.
- Practice reading the material that was sent home with them.

Fall - Week 2

Level 1
- Please practice writing Alphabets ఇ,ఈ,ఉ,ఊ in the book provided. Please make sure they are pronouncing the letter while writing.
Level 2
- Read and Write all Alphabets (Some kids are behind in reading & writing alphabets. This is required so that they can learn how to read & write words)
- Practice Guninthalu
- Practice saying numbers in telugu from 1 to 100.
- Practice saying Days of week in telugu.
Level 3
- Practice the reading material given to them.

Fall - Week 3

Level 1
- Please ask the child to practice the first 9 letters they have learned so far.
  (అ, ఆ, ఇ, ఈ, ఉ, ఊ, ఎ, ఏ, ఐ).
- Please click on the link below and complete the worksheets.
  Write Achulu
Level 2
- Please have your kids practice writing, recognizing, and pronouncing letters. The children are having difficulty recognizing letter if they are out of sequence. The kids were given bingo sheets during the last class. Please use the sheets to practice letter recognition.
- Please ask the kids to read page 11 of the text book. The words on the page do not have any గుణింతాలు
Level 3
- PPlease practice reading the paper that was sent home with you. Try to complete all the stories on the sheet not just one.

Fall - Week 4

Level 1
- Please ask the child to practice all the letters (read and write) they have learned so far.
Level 2
- Please have your kids practice reading, writing and recognizing Guninthalu. We explained on how Guninthalu are written in class. Please review the textbook page (about how Guninthalu are constructed) with the child
Level 3
- Please practice exercises from Level 3 textbook and read the material given to them.

Fall - Week 5

Level 1
- Practice First five Hallulu and review all acthulu.
- Complete writing in their work books which most of them did in class.
- Practice the poem gangi govu palu.....
Level 2
- Practice guninthalu.
- Identify guninthalu and the second page of the Vemana Padyalu handout.
Level 3
- Read the handout given to them.

Fall - Week 6

Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3
- During the class last Sunday, the kids were taught about Deepawali. They also made clay pramidalu. Hope you were able to use them in your Deepawali celebration this week. Attached please find a story that was told to the kids in the last class. This coming Sunday we plan on asking kids questions on the last page of the attachment. Please go through the story and the quiz with your kids prior to the class on Sunday.

Fall - Week 7

Level 1
- Practice Alphabets taught in Class.
- Complete writing in their work books.
Level 2
- Practice Reading and Writing guninthalu.
Level 3
- Read the handout given to them.

Fall - Week 8

Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3
- No Class

Fall - Week 9

Last Sunday the kids were introduced to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and Childrens Day. The kids were sent home a potrait of Nehru and were asked to color it and bring it back to the next class.

Level 2
- Students practiced reading and writing words with Guninthalu (Textbook page 14) and learned meanings of them. Some students are still not able to recognize some alphabets. Please review the alphabets and Guninthalu with them.
- Students were asked to practice reading words with Guninthalu (Textbook page 15-16) for the next class.
Level 3
- Practice the Reading Material given to them.

Fall - Week 10

Raghu Garu and Malini Garu met with parents to discuss about the Sankranthi Event.
All children were given handouts for Karagre Vasathe Slokam and they practiced it in class.
Later we discussed about Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and Childrens Day (from handout).
Level 1
- Practice Writing Alphabets (త, థ, ద, ధ్, న)
- Practice Karagre Vasathe Slokam and Vemana Padhyam 'allupudepudu paluku adam baramuganu...'
Level 2
- Students practiced reading and writing words with Guninthalu in Textbook page 15 (దీర్ఘము-కా), page 16(గుడి-కి) and learned meanings of them. We request parents to review the alphabets and Guninthalu with them.
- Students were asked to practice reading words with Guninthalu in textbook page 17 (గుడి దీర్ఘము-కీ), 18( కొమ్ము-కు) and 19( కొమ్ము దీర్ఘము-కూ) for the next class.
Level 3
- Practice the Reading Material given to them.

Fall - Week 11, Week 12 and Week 13

No HomeWork was given.
Planning and preparation for student participation in TAJA Sankranthi Event (by Telugu Badi Coordinators and Parents).
Finalized coordinators and participants (Telugu Badi Students) for seven performances during the Sankranthi Event.

Spring - January 2012

No HomeWork was given.
No Telugu Badi Classes were conducted except for the last week of January as students were practicing for their sankranthi programs and performed during the TAJA Event.

Spring - Week 1

Level 1
- Practice Writing Alphabets (చ, ఛ, జ, ఝ, న)
- Practice Sahanavavthu Slokam --invoking Godess Saraswati
Level 2
- Students practiced reading and writing words in Textbook pages 20 and 21. Meanings are explained to improved their vocabulary.
- We request parents to review alphabets and Guninthalu with students who are a little behind.
Level 3
- Students were asked to continue doing the excercises (Read and Write)) in their text book.
- Students were given a new telugu book which has some stories with questions. The were asked to read it and answer the questions in telugu.
